Quality Pine Shavings

Old North Wood Products has been providing quality pine shavings to the poultry and equine industry since 2006. Our facility is located in Maiden, NC on Prison Camp Road and utilizes 4 full time employees and a plant manager. Ample dry storage buildings allow our operation to provide consistent product year round, even during prolonged inclement weather. A portion of our property is leased to Wood Harvest Inc., Monroe, NC. Wood Harvest, Inc. operates as a timber broker/wood yard which provides Old North Wood Products with a continuous supply of prime pine timber for our shavings production.

We Are Eco Friendly

We are proud to say that we are a “green” environmentally friendly facility. Our shavings are dried utilizing a burner/dryer combination fueled with waste from our shaving operation. All waste material not burned for fuel is ground into landscape mulch and sold locally. We produce and sell only bulk shavings, this in turn, eliminates the introduction of plastic products into the environment and landfills.

Our Process

Raw material is secured and delivered daily by on-site timber broker, Wood Harvest, Inc., and arrives at plant daily.

Material is prepped for
log storage and introduction into shaving mill process.

Our Solid Relationship with Wood Harvest, Inc. allows ONWP to secure and maintain an ample year-round inventory

Quality uniform product Before transferring to the dryer, shavings are processed through our vibratory screen equipment to insure a quality uniform product
